You can reach the agritourism SA ROIA TRAVERSA driving through the provincial road No. six ( SP 6) which from Cabras leads to S.Giovanni di Sinis.
Before arriving at S.Giovanni di Sinis (about 2.-2 Km. before) you come across our road sign. There, you must turn right on a country road. This road is in good condition and easily practicable even in winter. When you get close to the entrance after 1.5 Km, you´ll have the feeling to go into an oasis,
where the green of the olive trees isolates our premises from the external surroundings. After driving through the wide path,you´ll get near the centre of the farm. There, you´ll be welcomed by Rita and Luigi,the owners and the runners of the agritourism.
Rita takes care personally of the gastronomy.She will teach the guests the secrets of the typical sardinian dishes,particularly those regarding the area of Cabras and explains them the preparation and the ingredients used for each dish. Luigi runs the farm directly,he grows vegetables,artichokes and produces wine and olive oil. He rears farmyard animals as well.And it´s Luigi himself who reveals to the guests of the agritourism,the secrets of folk wisdom.
The agritourism has twelve rooms with private baths,fridge,heating and mosquito nets. You can enter the rooms from separate entrances,through a veranda which faces the garden of the complex.
In all the guests´ rooms we privilege privacy,on the contrary when we have our meals, we gather in a big dining room,in order to encourage socialization.
The dining room becomes the place where to taste the various skilfully prepared dishes, and where to spend your evenings under the large gazebo,tasting the liquers and spirits made by Luigi,(Among them:myrtle,cardoon and filu e ferru (a sort of grappa)). At the end of the holiday it will be possible to buy some of the flavours of the farm,such as jams and our in oil products.
TECHNICAL INFORMATIONWe can´t forget that our main activity is farming,therefore during the low season when the agricultural production takes us up much more,we can only provide the bed & breakfast accomodation. On request,on that season,we organize agritouristic dinners for parties. During the high season,only half board accomodation is provided (Supper,overnight stay, breakfast).
On Sunday we have only B&B Services.
The rooms will be cleaned up weekly and the towels will be changed every three days.
Having chosen to offer you a holiday in an oasis,our farm doesn´t have any TV set.
Thanks to the mistral (northwest wind) and the proximity of the sea,our premises don´t need any air conditioning.
In the garden area in front of the restaurant there is a wifi zone for the guests.
Owing to the respect we must pay to our guests it´s not allowed to keep pets. To encourage our guests to make friends, meals will be served in the dining room on a big table.
We inform you that at present is not possible to pay by cash card, check or credit card.
SOME OF THE DISHES YOU´LL BE ABLE TO TASTE DURING YOUR STAYBesides the typical roasted pork (small pigs) you´ll be able to eat the following dishes: Lamb with artichokes,noodles in guinea fawl sauce. Since Cabras has a marine cuisine tradition you´ll have the opportunity to taste the famous "bottarga", our caviar (salted and pressed grey mullet eggs). We serve "bottarga" either as hors d´ouvres or grated on the spaghetti or on the artichokes. Another typical dish is "Sa fregula" which is a kind of pasta in the form of small balls, made from hard wheat.It´s served in broth with different seasonings.
Not to forget "Sa merca", it consists of grey mullet, boiled in salt water and wrapped up with palustrine herbs.
Let´s add "Sa burrida" it consists of dogfish in sweet and sour red sauce.
